This bill would divert 1/3 of the revenue from the natural gas processors tax into the Low Income Utility Assistance Fund, a portion of which would help low income households with energy efficiency, presumably to help save them money on their utility bills.  So, we'll tax the natural gas processors so they have to increase everyone's bills, then we'll help some people lower their bills.  This process seems illogical.

If the tax wasn't collected in the first place, lower income families would have more money left in their pockets to invest in better appliances, families who wouldn't qualify for assistance under this bill wouldn't be forced to share (or subsidize inefficient, red tape bureaucracies), and gas companies might be able to pay their workers better.

This bill didn't make it to the Senate floor in time, and let's hope it never does.

More green nonsense. See the Audi Superbowl commercial to see where this is going.

XCEL already has a free program to help all their customers with weatherizing their homes and rebates on more efficient appliances without taxing the public (directly). What more can the government do? Pay their bills?
