I think it is time to have an exemption to the Property Tax Code for institutional exemptions. If all properties regardless of ownership were assessed to pay property taxes, there would be no need for GRT on services in this State making New Mexico more business friendly at the same time maintain a lower effective property tax rate than our neighboring states. It's called spread the tax burden so we all pay less, but we all pay some.
