    WOW! That the only thing I can say about this bill. Roswell NM has three major industries; Gas and Oil, Agriculture, and Tourism. Gas and Oil is already in the tank leaving us only with two productive tax sources. If this bill is passed, a traveler would have to pay; 7% GRT + 5% City Lodger’s Tax + 10% State Lodger’s Tax. That is a 22% tax over the cost of the room. This will have a major impact on tourism in Roswell and will not allow the City to impose any local taxes of its own. Roswell still has 2% margin to increase GRT and if that were implemented, we would be taxing our visitors 24% tax. That’s a revolutionary level. I say no to this bill because it is stealing from the local governments to feed that big monster in Santa Fe.
