This bill passed the House and is now on it's way to the Senate.
I do not understand why this credit of 7% GRT and 3% Vehicle Excise Tax on Hybrid gas-electric vehicles is being extended. This credit has not spurred very many sales and I think that if a person is that conscience about the environment, they will buy the vehicles regardless. With our State Budget still bulging at the seams, one would hope that our legislators would let this expire and recapture to estimated $1.4M in tax revenue. This bill has a greater impact on our State budget than it does on the environment.
