    2009 House Bill 65 (Extend Deadline for State Legislator Plan 1 Members)

    Introduced in the House on January 21, 2009, to provide an opportunity for State Legislator Plan 1 members who missed the deadline to make additional statutory contributions to enhance their retirement benefits for service credit earned prior to December 31, 2002, by paying additional contributions on or before January 1, 2010

    The vote was 65 in favor, 0 opposed and 5 not voting

    I find it very interesting that a republic party member who is supposed to be a fiscal conservative would introduce a bill expanding a retirement bill that would expand benefits for himself and other members of the republic party when the republic party members are voting to limit retirement opportunities for others.  As an ERB retiree and a member of PERA, I find this extremely objectionable.
