Requiring that legislative conference committee meetings be open to the public is a landmark success for government transparency.  This act, along with the attempts made by some of our representatives to webcast conference and floor meetings, illustrates a changing tide of opinion in our state legislature.  These reprensentatives should be commended for intending to make themselves and each other more accountable to the people.
